Not everything is a remodel. Sometimes it's a leaking water heater, a door that won't close, drywall to patch, or the list of small fixes you keep meaning to get to. We started in service and repair, and we still take those calls, done by the same licensed, insured family crew that builds the remodels.
Silicon Valley Building Service and Repair began exactly where the name says: service and repair. Before the kitchens and ADUs, David was fixing water heaters, patching drywall, and handling the jobs most contractors are too busy to return a call about. We earned our own California contractor's license in 2019 and grew into full remodels, but we never stopped taking repair work. When something in your home breaks or wears out, you get a licensed crew that treats a two-hour fix with the same care as a two-month build.

Licensed matters, even for the small stuff
Plenty of people will do these jobs without a license. The problem shows up later: no insurance if something goes wrong, no bond, no code inspection, and no one to call if the fix fails. We hold a Class B General Building license (CSLB #1050108), carry a contractor's bond and liability and workers' compensation insurance, and back our work with a written workmanship warranty. It is the same accountability behind a full remodel, applied to a repair. If a job actually needs a specialty trade we do not hold, we will tell you straight and point you the right way rather than wing it.
How a repair call goes
Call or text and describe the problem, or send a photo. We reply fast, usually the same day, and for small jobs we can often schedule quickly. We look at it, give you a fixed price in writing before any work starts, and do it right the first time, cleaning up after ourselves. No surprise change orders, no mystery invoice at the end.
