Privacy policy
We are a small family contractor, not a data company. We collect only what we need to answer you and prepare your estimate, we never sell your information, and we keep it to the people who work here. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

What we collect
- Information you give us through the contact and estimate forms: your name and email (required), and optionally your phone number, project details, and property address. You choose what to share; the optional fields just help us prepare a more accurate estimate.
- Booking information if you schedule a consultation through our online calendar, which is handled by Calendly.
- Basic website analytics, collected automatically through Google Analytics: pages viewed, approximate location (city or region, not your exact address), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is aggregated and used to understand what is useful, not to identify you personally.
How we use it
- To reply to your message, answer questions, and prepare and send your free estimate.
- To schedule and confirm consultations and, if you become a client, to carry out your project.
- To understand which pages and services people find useful and improve the site.
We do not use your information for unrelated marketing, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
We do not sell your information
We have not sold and do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with the service providers below, and only so the site and our contact tools can function.
Service providers we use
- Netlify hosts the website and processes contact-form submissions, which are emailed to us at info@siliconvalleybuilding.com.
- Google Analytics provides the anonymous website-usage statistics described above and sets cookies to do so.
- Calendly powers the online consultation scheduler if you choose to book a time.
Each provider handles data under its own privacy terms. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of websites we link to.
Cookies
The site uses cookies only for Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site works fine with cookies turned off.
How long we keep it
We keep estimate and project inquiries for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our record-keeping and legal obligations, then delete them. Analytics data is retained on Google's standard schedule. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy, to ask us to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is no sale to opt out of. To make a request, email info@siliconvalleybuilding.com or call (408) 667-4946, and we will verify and respond within the timeframes the law requires.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) delivery of the website. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we limit access to the people who actually need it to serve you.
Children
The site is meant for homeowners and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date above.
