Evergreen climbs from 1970s ranch homes into the 1990s–2000s subdivisions of the East San Jose foothills, from Evergreen and Aborn out to Silver Creek Valley and Montgomery Hill. Those newer houses have reached the age where kitchens and primary baths are ready for a rework, and the hillside lots add a wrinkle of their own: parcels near the Evergreen foothills can need grading or geologic review before an addition goes in. We build that into the plan from the start, not after the city asks.

Twelve-plus years of South Bay remodels have settled us into a rhythm: one family, one crew, one point of contact. We draw the plans, pull City of San José permits, and take care of Title 24. What's left to you is the good part, choosing finishes you'll love.

Evergreen permits run through the City of San José. Since 2012 we've built all over the South Bay, and we've worked with every local building department.

What we handle in Evergreen

Whole home

Open-concept reconfigurations

Taking the right walls out of larger Evergreen floor plans so kitchen, dining, and living finally share the light.

Kitchens

Kitchen & primary-suite remodels

Custom kitchens and spa-style primary suites scaled to fit Evergreen's larger homes, not squeezed into them.

ADUs

ADUs & additions

Evergreen's larger lots leave room to build: detached ADUs, additions, and garage conversions, permitted and Title 24-compliant.

Permits

Permits, Title 24 & code

City of San José permitting and SB 407 water-fixture updates, carried from first drawing to final inspection.

Evergreen remodeling: common questions
Do you pull permits for Evergreen remodels?
Yes. Evergreen is part of the City of San Jose, so we pull every permit through the City's Planning, Building & Code Enforcement (PBCE) department, including Title 24 and SB 407, and manage inspections for you. On foothill and hillside lots near the Evergreen foothills, the City may also require grading or geologic review, which we account for up front.
How much does a remodel cost in Evergreen?
Most kitchens start around $30,000 and bathrooms around $15,000, though Evergreen's larger homes often scope higher. We give a free, fixed-price estimate up front. See our cost guide.
Which Evergreen neighborhoods do you work in?
All of them: Evergreen, Silver Creek Valley, Montgomery Hill, and Aborn, plus the surrounding San Jose and South Bay.
Do hillside Evergreen lots need extra review for additions?
They can. Parcels on the Evergreen foothills sometimes trigger grading or geologic review through the City of San Jose before an addition is approved. We flag it early, budget for it in your fixed price, and handle the submittals so it doesn't stall your project.

Also here: a burst supply line or a slow leak is the other reason we get called. We handle the repair and rebuild after a leak, once a certified crew has dried the structure out, plus repairs and permit and code resolution.
